Fantasy update: smarter scoring, Flex picks, Dynamic Pricing, and custom league rules
Jul 05 - 1:06 PM
Fantasy CS2 should reward the people who read the game well. The latest ClutchKing update is built around that idea: better role scoring, more meaningful roster choices, player prices that can move during a tournament, and more control for league admins.
If you are building a roster, these changes give you more ways to find value before the rest of your league does. If you run a community league, they give you more control over the rules your players compete on.
AWPers and Riflers now score more clearly
AWPer and Rifler scoring has been adjusted so points are easier to understand and closer to what each role does on the server.
The biggest change is that role-defining moments now carry more weight. Clutch wins, AWP impact, flash assists, multi-kills, and opening kills all have clearer places in the scoring system.
Default scoring changes look like this:
AWPer
| Metric | Before | Now |
|---|---|---|
| Number of kills | +4 per kill | +3 per kill |
| 1vsX clutch wins | Not counted | +5 per 1vsX |
| AWP kills | +1 per AWP kill | +2 per AWP kill |
Rifler
| Metric | Before | Now |
|---|---|---|
| 1vsX clutch wins | Not counted | +5 per 1vsX |
| Assists | +1 per assist | +1 per assist |
| Flash assists | Not counted | +1 per flash assist |
For your roster, that makes both roles easier to read. AWPers should stand out when they create openings, hit AWP impact, and win clutch rounds. Riflers should stand out when they take space, convert entries, trade consistently, and deliver multi-kill rounds.
These are the default scoring rules. Custom league admins can tune scoring for their own leagues before publishing.
Clutches and flash assists can now matter
We have added two CS2-native scoring metrics: 1vsX and flash assists.
1vsX rewards clutch wins. When a player wins an outnumbered round, that can now be reflected in fantasy scoring.
Flash assists give utility impact more weight. A player who sets up teammates with smart flashes can now matter more, even when they are not the one getting the final kill.
The result is a deeper leaderboard. Kills still matter, but clutch reads, utility, and role fit now have more room to shape the standings.
Flex gives every roster a meta call
CS2 lineups now include a Flex slot.
The standard CS2 roster is:
- 1 In-game Lead
- 1 AWPer
- 2 Riflers
- 1 Flex
- Coach
Flex can be filled by a Rifler or an AWPer. That gives every roster one extra strategic choice.
Do you want a second AWPer because the bracket favors them? Do you want another Rifler because the price is better? Do you want a safer pick, or a high-upside sleeper?
Flex is where your read on the event meta can separate your roster from the field.
Support scoring opens up value picks
Flex also introduces Support scoring.
When you place a Rifler or AWPer in Flex, you can choose a Support scoring style for that pick. Support scoring puts more focus on helpful, team-first impact, especially assists and steady contribution.
That makes Flex more than an extra role slot. You can still chase another carry, but you can also turn a smart utility player into a real value pick. It should help more players matter and give your league more ways to argue about the right sleeper before matchday.
Player prices can move during the tournament
Dynamic pricing lets player prices update as the tournament develops.
When dynamic pricing is enabled, prices can change after completed stages based on fantasy performance. If a player is outperforming expectations, their price can rise. If a player is struggling, their price can fall.
That makes early value picks more important. Find the right player before the rest of your league does, and their value can change as the event moves forward. Roster changes also become more strategic because a player's current price may be different from the price when you first picked them.
Leagues that prefer a fixed format can keep prices locked. If dynamic pricing is off, player prices stay stable for that league.
Custom leagues can shape their own rules
League admins now have more control over how their community plays.
When a league is still in draft, admins can set the roster format and tune the scoring rules. That means your league can decide which roles every lineup uses and how much each part of CS2 performance is worth.
Want a league where AWPers are premium picks? Want assists and support play to matter more? Want Flex decisions to define the meta? League admins can shape those rules before publishing.
Admins can also choose whether dynamic pricing is active for the league.
Core roster and scoring settings lock after the league is published, so everyone competes on the same rules once the event starts.
What it means for your next roster
This update makes every pick a little more meaningful.
AWPers have a clearer fantasy identity. Clutch wins and flash assists can matter. Flex gives you one slot to make a sharper meta call. Support scoring gives overlooked players a path to value. Dynamic pricing rewards early reads during the tournament.
Build your roster. Read the meta. Make every matchday count.
